Lucas Segovia

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Lucas Segovia started dancing at the age of 16. Three years later he joined Ballet Argentino as a Soloist Dancer and was promoted to Principal Dancer shortly after, being the only dancer performing a solo piece in Julio Bocca’s farewell performance for over 300,000 people and broadcast on national TV.

Lucas has been a member of The Washington Ballet, Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company (directed by Christopher Wheeldon with residency in both New York and London), and The Joffrey Ballet, where in the span of six seasons he performed in virtually their entire repertoire as a soloist or principal dancer.

Lucas has danced works by choreographers such as Balanchine, Robbins, Twyla Tharp, Mark Morris, Christopher Wheeldon, Wayne McGregor, Alexei Ratmansky, William Forsythe, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Justin Peck, and Bob Fosse, among many others.

Throughout his career, he has danced in more than 350 cities around the globe, performing in some of the most important theaters in the world.

Lucas has been awarded the Premio Clarin, the most prestigious recognition for the Arts in Argentina.
