About the Program

Join guest conductor Tania Miller, concertmaster Michèle Lekas, and the Rockford Symphony Orchestra for a program that inspires with renewal and the blossoms of Spring.  Aaron Copland’s beloved Appalachian Spring captures the American pioneer spirit of hope with his ballet about a newlywed couple building a new home in Pennsylvania. Spring love is in the air with two tales of love in John William’s Chairman’s Waltz and the tragic love of the Butterfly Lovers in He Zhanhao’s tender and poignant music. And how better to celebrate the newness of spring than through the freshness of Mozart and renewal of nature of the Blue Danube?  Please join us for an evening that will revive your spirit through the beauty of music.
