Join us for an afternoon of French Music with a Jazz Flair!

This program explores the surprising connections between French music and American Jazz. The harmonies that we appreciate in American Jazz were being used by French composers just a few years earlier. Featuring the music of Debussy, Ravel, Gershwin, and more, this is a unique program featuring six RSO Musicians that you won’t want to miss!

There will be a short talk-back after the performance with the musicians. This will give audience members a chance to ask questions of and interact with RSO musicians. Plan to join us!

Artist Tom Linden will be on site creating a visual interpretation of the performance. Known for capturing Midwestern landscapes en plein air, Tom Linden is an accomplished oil painter and award-winning watercolor artist who makes his home in Rockford. He has been painting RSO musicians during the Anderson Japanese Gardens Winter Coffee and Fireside Music events and will have paintings and sketches of the musicians in performance on display at the concert.
