RSYO 23/24 Camp & Season Information

The start of our 23/24 season is approaching and we're very excited to start making music together again! Please make sure you read through the entire email as there is a lot of important information!

Camp RSYO
Camp Day is less than a month away – on August 26, 2023! Camp RSYO takes place in Kresge Hall (unless otherwise noted) at the Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main Street, Rockford, IL 61103 (same building as the RSO Offices). Here is the Schedule:
9-9:30a – Section Leader Workshop/Check-in in Upstairs Board Room
9:30-12:00p – Full Orchestra Rehearsal
12:00-1:00p – Lunch from Jason’s Deli
1:00-2:15p – Full Orchestra Rehearsal
2:15-3:00p – Break & Game
3:00-4:00p – Full Orchestra Rehearsal
4:00-5:00p – Break & Game
4:00-5:00p – Parents’ Meeting in the RMP Theater just off the lobby of the Riverfront Museum Park
5:00-5:45p – Open Rehearsal (parents are invited to attend)
5:45-7:00p – Musician & Family Potluck
7:00-7:15p – Clean-up- all hands on deck!
All parents are required to attend the Parent Meeting at 4:00pm on Camp Day. We will review the season, answer questions and review policies and procedures. You are then invited to stay for the Open Rehearsal at 5:00pm. We encourage everyone to attend the Musician & Family potluck for a community-building opportunity.
To get ready, there are a few things I need from you:

Family Potluck Sign Up –Please use the link and sign up to bring something (buying pre-made is perfectly fine!): https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e4fa4ae2ca6f85-camp2#/ You can send food with your musician in the morning or drop it off/bring it with you anytime throughout the day.
Tuition &Handbook
The RSYO handbook with information on attendance policies, concert dress code, and other information will be distributed on Camp Day. Orchestra tuition is $475 for the season and Chamber tuition (by invitation) is $100 for the season. Payment plan options and tuition assistance are available. Invoices for tuition will be sent out after camp. There will be payment due dates and instructions on the invoice. Please email me with any questions.
